Digital to analogue converter has been probably, next to headphones, the most popular type of audio component in the recent years. As the music files have become the most used music medium, DACs have become a must for many, if not most, music lovers. Huge demand resulted in huge supply and strong competition among manufacturers. While that’s usually a good news for end users who can choose among hundreds, maybe thousands of variously priced devices, some might feel overwhelmed with such a big number of possible choices. Let me try to help you a bit and point you to probably not so well-known, but definitely worth getting to know brand from Greece – the Ideon Audio.  

It’s been almost two years since my last Pass Labs adventure. The Munich show is just around the corner, hence timing to write to this company’s spokesman Desmond seemed to be a spot on. During the last Audio Video Show in Warsaw one of the most renowned Polish loudspeaker manufacturers, ESA presented the new model called Credo Stone. The first part of the name suggests a shared DNA with the well-known and highly valued Credo Illuminator line. The second one emphasizes innovations implemented in this model that resulted in an improved performance that justified a birth of a whole new line of speakers. Polska firma Audio Reveal zdobyła uznanie w branży dzięki wzmacniaczom zintegrowanym, które pracują w opartym na tetrodach układzie single-ended. Najnowszy dodatek do jej oferty – Audio Reveal Classique – to też konstrukcja zintegrowana, ale zbudowana ku chwale lampy 300B, oczywiście tylko jednej na kanał.

Choć wielkie, ciężkie i technologicznie zaawansowane, kolumny podłogowe Avantgarde Acoustic Duo SD stanowią zaledwie środek oferty niemieckiego producenta. Mają też bardzo dobrze sobie radzić w niedużych pomieszczeniach. Skoro nadarzyła się okazja do ugoszczenia ich u siebie, zbrodnią byłoby z niej nie skorzystać. Zapraszam!
