It’s been on the market for quite a few years now, but as far as I know it’s never been reviewed before. I feel honored to be the first one to do it. Without further ado let me invite for the review of a tube phonostage from Germany, the Thöress Phono Enhancer.

After the recent Anzus Mainz loom review at this site, the time has come to investigate yet another product manufactured at the same place, albeit under a different brand. The Børresen 01 has been on my radar ever since auditioning it for the first time, now was the time to ask for a loaner and Its makers happily obliged. Enjoy!

As I have recently finished my review of the Thöress Phono Enhancer, a bit vintage looking, offering unique features and stunningly sounding phonostage from Germany, I thought that it might be a good idea to continue this relatively new, but hopefully interesting tradition of using such occasion to „talk” to the designer. Below you will find an interview with Reinhard Thöress, the man behind this particular, and currently nine more unique in many respects products. Feel free to treat it as an introduction, a chance to get to know Reinhard and his work a little, before you read the review, that is coming in the next few days.

Products released under the sound|kaos banner are known for their unique appeal, Swiss origin, top shelf wooden cabinets and exotic drivers. Until recently all were full-sized, but a while ago their maker Martin Gateley detoured towards a more compact form, albeit with firm intent to embed all his trademark features in it. Jeszcze do niedawna firma Audio Reveal miała w swojej ofercie jedynie lampowe wzmacniacze zintegrowane. W pierwszym kwartale tego roku nastąpił tam cyfrowy twist w postaci nietypowego konwertera c/a o nazwie Audio Reveal Hercules. Czas przyjrzeć mu się bliżej.
