Although Intrada’s founder Michał Gogulski had a very good start with his introductory speaker set Erik, he didn’t stop there. His own power distributor Intrada S6 was launched just recently and sent my way shortly after. Enjoy!

After the highly encouraging experience provided by the David Laboga’s entry level Expression Emerald USB cable, which turned out to be an extremely musical beast and became a part of my reference system, the time has come for yet another proposition prepared by this brand for owners of high-end music files-based systems. For the test I received a high-end Ethernet cable, namely the David Laboga Digital Sound Wave Sapphire Ethernet.

This time, I took on a test of several components that are intended to enhance a sonic experience while listening to music from audio files. All these products come from the renown Polish brand JCAT, one of the leaders of the PC audio world. I decided to test some of their latest proposals in my custom music server including: JCAT USB Card XE and JCAT NET Card XE – top models in the range, supported by the company’s INITIO 3 linear power supply. To make things even more interested I asked also for the JCAT USB + LAN Ground Conditioner.

There is a group of devoted fans of loudspeaker designs featuring a single, full-range driver, yours truly included. The Closer Acoustics brand, already known to our Readers, not only offers several designs of this type, but in case of two of them, one can choose between a version with a “standard” (nothing ordinary about it really) driver and a one with an electromagnet, or a so-called field coil. For this review the manufacturer delivered the second model from the top, Allegra EX, and the EX designation marks use of „Excitation” drivers (as the French call field coils).

Jeszcze do niedawna firma Audio Reveal miała w swojej ofercie jedynie lampowe wzmacniacze zintegrowane. W pierwszym kwartale tego roku nastąpił tam cyfrowy twist w postaci nietypowego konwertera c/a o nazwie Audio Reveal Hercules. Czas przyjrzeć mu się bliżej.
